Friday night I had the pleasure of celebrating Lauren and Derek’s wedding at a small, hidden gem of a bar in Tuckahoe called Tuck’d Away. This one stood out, not because it was flashy or formal, but because it was personal, unique, and full of great energy from start to finish.
This was the perfect example of a micro-wedding (a more intimate celebration with fewer guests, but all the traditional elements that make a wedding special). Lauren and Derek didn’t hold back! They had a proper introduction, first dance, parent dances, speeches, and cake cutting, all in a relaxed and cozy setting.
We got there early and set up a compact sound system and our photo booth. As guests started arriving around 8 PM, I immediately recognized several familiar faces. That’s always a good sign—you just know the party’s going to be great.
Lauren and Derek arrived at 8:30. While they waited outside, I gathered everyone’s attention and gave them a proper introduction. When they walked in, the place erupted with cheers, almost like a surprise party! That moment set the tone for the rest of the night.
Once the dancing started, it didn’t stop. The dance floor stayed full all night long, proving you don’t need a big ballroom to throw a big party.
If you’re looking for a nontraditional, laid-back spot to host a wedding or private event in Westchester, definitely talk to Michael over at Tuck’d Away. It’s a fantastic option for couples who want a more personal, low-key vibe without sacrificing the fun or the moments that matter.
Until next time,
