Last night, I had the honor of DJing a truly special wedding at The Village at The Wheel in Stamford, Connecticut. This spot is super trendy—it’s got a modern vibe and sits right on the water, which makes it perfect for weddings and events.
This one meant a lot to me personally. Angela and Anthony, the bride and groom, are friends—and I actually did Anthony’s dad’s wedding 25 years ago. So yeah, seeing so many familiar faces in the crowd was amazing.
The ceremony took place on the first floor of the Wheel’s event space. We handled the music and microphone setup. Right from the start, I could tell the crowd was ready to celebrate. Angela and Anthony’s crew, mostly in their 30s, were dressed to impress, and the room was filled with beautiful people and great energy.
The ceremony was short and sweet, officiated by Anthony’s uncle, and then everyone moved into cocktail hour. They brought in an independent violinist who was fantastic and really set the mood.
After that, it was time to party. Everyone headed upstairs to the main event space where we had the photo booth, lights, and sound system ready to go. From the first song, the dance floor was packed. Angela and Anthony picked most of the music themselves (lots of club, freestyle, and hip-hop tracks), which kept the energy high all night.
At one point, Anthony’s boys lifted him up in the air, and Angela did a mid-party dress change into something more relaxed and fun so she could really get down. We even went an hour overtime because no one wanted to stop.
It was an incredible night with great people, great music, and a ton of love in the room. This one’s definitely one to remember.
