On Saturday, April 26, 2025, I had the honor of DJing a beautiful and intimate wedding for Jim and Jen at the historic Waveny House in New Canaan, Connecticut. This Tudor-style mansion was once home to actor Christopher Lloyd—best known as Doc Brown from Back to the Future—who grew up there!
Jim and Jen’s wedding was a nice gathering of about 90 close friends and family. Both were celebrating their second marriage. The ceremony took place in one of Waveny’s charming side rooms, creating an intimate atmosphere. Afterward, guests transitioned to the outdoor patio for cocktail hour, enjoying a playlist made by the couple that showcased their musical taste.
After the cocktail hour, guests moved into the mansion. There were separate rooms for dining and dancing. This setup didn’t hinder the party by any means. We kicked off with “Signed, Sealed, Delivered” by Stevie Wonder, setting an energetic tone. We did a fun 30-minute dance set before dinner, and piped music into the dining room with a satellite speaker system. One memorable moment was Jim’s grown son delivering a touching speech, highlighting the deep familial bonds present.
After dinner, the dance floor got going again. We mixed classic throwbacks—think Queen, Earth, Wind & Fire, and House of Pain—with contemporary hits, keeping the energy high. Despite the modest guest count, the celebration felt quite exciting.
Jim and Jen’s smiles were infectious, and their sentiment, “It only took us 50 years to find each other,” resonated deeply. Being part of such a meaningful occasion was truly a joy.
